Hi!
It’s already been a pretty while since Sway was released on the 19th of May. Before I finally leave into a summer break, I want to share some impressions of the concerts I played and give you an insight into my plans for the coming time.
I was super happy that the first Palmanu concert in Austria took place in my hometown Salzburg. I didn’t play music in Salzburg for several years and almost everyone of my family and many old friends came to listen. So there have been many reasons to make it very special for me to play there.
Two days later we played in a crowded Kramladen in Vienna together with the wonderful Ines Mags. On these two concerts I was supported by four great musicians and friends Lukas Weidmann, Mario Fartacek, Julian Pieber and Veronika Gruchmann. It felt very intense and fulfilling to me, playing the songs within a layer of sounds and beats together with them. Thanks to the four of you for joining in and making the music alive and vibrating!
After some days of rest, I went to Germany to play an intimate acoustic concert in the cozy Pony Bar in Hamburg and another one in the aesthetic Café Zanetta in Fürth, where I played together with my old friends Catrina Cassidy and Theresa Anrich as Erna & Fred.
It was a big pleasure playing my music live in front of so many carefully listening people. Thanks a lot to all of you who came by!
Now to my plans: I don’t have any plans at all. This is something very new for me. Normally, I plan ahead a lot and have two new project ideas in my hands before even finishing a current one. This time it’s different. After all of this excitement, preparation and work, I don’t feel like planning. I feel like jumping into cold mountain lakes, listening to different layers of inner and outer silence and exploring physical motion to music. Therefore, this Soundletter represents the last one for the moment. If some new Palmanu stuff is going on, I’ll keep you updated.
For the meantime, I want to share a Haiku with you that I just wrote a few days ago:
Listen to the sound of the wind Wisdom’s dancing in it The space of love and trust is vast
May the summer sun bring light and joy to you
MJ
